Giuliana Potenziani

Giuliana Potenziani, Julie known by most, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. She was 73 years old. 

Julie was born on July 7, 1952 in Fumone, Frosinone, Italy, daughter of the late Enrico and Giovanna (Pennachia) Potenziani. Julie came from Italy to the United States with her mother and some of her siblings when she was five years old, to join her father and the rest of her family.  Julie attended St. Joseph’s School and graduated from Danbury High School. Before moving out of the area, she and her entire family were active parishioners of St. Joseph’s church.

Julie held many careers in her 73 years of life; she was a CNA at Filosa Nursing home; an assembler at Davis and Geck and most recently was a manager with Burlington Coat Factory for more than 16 years before her retirement.  Julie loved to knit, everyone who knew Julie received a hand knitted blanket. She was a fashionista, always having the best heels and jewelry. She was the life of the party and knew how to make you laugh with her sense of humor. Julie’s greatest honor was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Julie would talk to anyone and make friends with all. Her family and friends brought her immense joy.

Julie is survived by her beloved daughter; Francine Bennett and her husband Mike, her grandchildren; Tiffany Bennett (Ryan Caviola) and Michael Bennett, her great grandchild; David Mock, her siblings;Palmira (Pam) Scascitelli, Silvana (Sylvia) Link, Piacento “Dino” Potenziani (wife Josephine), Angelo Potenziani (wife Marcia), Cesare Potenziani, her sister-in-law Theresa Potenziani and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother Franco “Frank” Potenziani, her sister Ernesta Hutter, brother-in-law William “Bill” Link, brother-in-law Luigi (Louie) Scascitelli, brother- in-law Robert Hutter.  She will be greatly missed by everyone she impacted in her life. 

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Tuesday February 24,2026 from 4pm-6pm with a service beginning at 5:30pm. A private cremation was held prior. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery.
