Barbara B. Reagin

Barbara B. Reagin, of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the age of 82. She lived in Cortlandt Manor, New York for many years before settling in Danbury.

Born on July 28, 1943, in Northampton, North Carolina, Barbara was the daughter of the late Bailey Bruce and Hazel Constance (Jerman) Buffaloe. 

Barbara spent many years as an administrative assistant with IBM, a job she genuinely loved and took pride in. She valued hard work and being independent. 

She had a unique and unmistakable way of expressing love, affection, and disapproval, often without saying a word. Her children, grandchildren, and friends knew when boundaries were being tested because Barbara would deliver “the look.” It was a look that needed no explanation. It was a mother’s look, equal parts warning, wisdom, and love.

Barbara’s love was deep, loyal, and unwavering, even when delivered with a sarcastic remark or raised eyebrow. You always knew where you stood with her, and you always knew you were loved. She knew how to have fun but also when it was time to get things done.

Barbara is survived by her beloved children: Lateef Abdur-Rahman (spouse Deb Abdur-Rahman), Hasan Culver, and Constance Torres (spouse Samuel Torres). She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Azzam Abdur-Rahman (spouse Raysa Rivero Abdur-Rahman), Hasan Culver II (spouse Sarah Culver), Caden Peryea, and Elijah Torres, as well as her treasured great-granddaughter, Nilia Abdur-Rahman. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Delores Buffaloe Bunch.

A private cremation will be held. Burial of Barbara’s ashes will take place at the convenience of the family. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home, 117 South Street, assisted the family with arrangements.

Barbara will be remembered for her strength, her sharp wit, her unmistakable presence.
